University Announces Discovery of Cthulhu Journal
Arkham, MA, July 26, 2005
A spokesman for Miskatonic University in Arkham,
MA, announced today that a team of archaeologists recently unearthed what is
believed to be the personal journal of Great Cthulhu, a Great Old One
worshipped by ancient cults.
Members of the archaeological expedition were reported to be undergoing
extensive medical treatment following a long, arduous trek through extremely
remote areas. University representatives declined to offer details about
where the expedition unearthed the apparent diary of the ancient god, citing
concerns about looting and vandalism. Officials promised more details
as soon as they have secured the site.
"We'll be providing extensive details about this exciting discovery," Dr.
B.T. Coltrane, head of the university's archaeological department, assured
press conference attendees. "Members of our linguistics, anthropology, and archaeology departments are working very hard to translate
this ancient text, and we'll be releasing those translations as they are
completed. Our archaeological team will also grant interviews as soon as
doctors determine they are healthy enough to do so."
When asked about an ambulance seen leaving the university hospital that
morning and heading toward Arkham Asylum, Coltrane
quickly ended the press conference. |
