We all know that in dark, cold, wet R'lyeh, Cthulhu lies dreaming until the stars are right. But did you know that before he decided to take his eons long nap, Cthulhu kept a daily journal? That's right; investigators from Miskatonic University stumbled across the diary of the Great Old One himself while chasing -- or being chased by -- insane cultists. Now you can read the innermost thoughts of that horrifying deity, along with press releases, editorial notes, and translators' commentary. Artwork inspired by the journals and even some of Cthulhu's own doodles are also available for viewing.

Press Releases

Read the story behind the story in press releases from Miskatonic University, along with other news articles related to this amazing discovery. You can also read about the MU scholars working on the Cthulhu's Notebook project.

Journal Entries

Because translating Cthulhu's diary in its entirety will take a significant amount of time, MU is releasing the translation of each journal entry as it is completed. When necessary, the translators and editors will include additional notes to explain specific items within a particular entry.

Artwork

Scholars working on the Cthulhu's Notebook project have discovered that, like many of us, Cthulhu doodled in the margins of his journal while he wrote. Perhaps this long-hidden creative dream is what led Cthulhu to inspire some of the artwork seen in this section.
